Life Legacy


Robert “Bob” Neylon 81, Indianapolis, an electrician who provided power to many for nearly four and a half decades, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday, July 22, 2011.

He was the foundation of his family’s life and will be greatly missed. A dedicated member of IBEW Local 481 for 59 years and Ohio National Guard Veteran who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and spending time with family. A selfless family man who sent his 7 children each through 12 years of parochial school, celebrated 60 years of marriage to Patricia Foster Neylon on June 30th. Bob was born to John Patrick & Marion Kelsey Neylon in Painesville, Ohio on May 6, 1930.

Children: Jim, Tom (Elizabeth), Kenny, Lisa Buchanan (Rick), Danny, Mike (Jan), Cheryl Davis (Donnie); 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Siblings: Tom (Sue), Joan Overton (Don), Phil (Pat), Kenny (Sandy), and Patty Dowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and grandson Christopher Neylon.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue; prayers will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 28 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St Roch Catholic Church, 3600 South Pennsylvania Street.

Bob will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
